10 Signs You May Be Experiencing A Panic Attack

Panic attacks can happen anytime and anywhere, even when you're sleeping. When you are experiencing a panic attack, you may feel as if your heart is stopping, or you're having a heart attack or feel like you're dying or going crazy. The fear that you experience during a panic attack is far from the truth. You may experience few of the following signs:

1. Heart palpitation

2. Tingling sensation in the hands or feet

3. Feeling weak, faint or dizzy

4. Hot or cold flashes

5. Chest pain or discomfort

6. Breathing difficulties or shortness of breath

7. Sense of impending doom or death

8. Nausea or abdominal distress

9. Trembling or shaking

10. Fight or flight response

The signs of a panic attack develop abruptly and usually reach its peak within 10 minutes. Most panic attacks end within 20 to 30 minutes, and they rarely last more than an hour. Panic attacks can happen even when you are asleep.
